PNoy senatorial candidate Juan Edgardo 'Sonny' Angara is bringing along
"Juan dela Cruz" in the homestretch of the May 13 elections in a bid
to boost his voter preference ratings.
Actor
Coco Martin, who plays "Juan dela Cruz" in the popular ABS-CBN TV
series of the same name, recently joined Angara in a motorcade and sortie in
Laguna, part of the vote-rich southern Tagalog region.
Martin
is also scheduled to join Angara on the campaign trail on Saturday in Molo,
Iloilo; Bacolod City; and Talamban, Cebu City.
In the latest Pulse Asia survey, Angara was among 16 "probable winners" if elections were held April 20-22.

The
Aurora representative can place 8th to 16th, which is not a comfortable
ranking.
In
the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey, meanwhile, Angara ranked
ninth.
During
ABS-CBN’s Harapan 2013 debate last Sunday, Angara was asked which fictional
superhero he would like to be and why. Angara said he would choose to
be Juan dela Cruz“para mapatay ang mga aswangs ng lipunan (so he can slay
the evils of society).”
Angara
is also being endorsed by the President’s sister Kris Aquino and popular
singer-actress Sarah Geronimo.
The
three-term Aurora congressman is the son of Senator Edgardo Angara, who is on
his last term in the Senate.
